Greetings from the Strater Hotel. Now that you have had the opportunity to explore our website, it is time for you to come and encounter first hand the "True Durango Experience" here at the Historic Strater Hotel. Sure there are a number of motels here in Durango to choose from, but none offer the setting the Strater does. Step into the Strater and you will be transported back in time to a period when cowboys ruled the west and stagecoaches roamed the streets. Each of our rooms are unique and we are certain there is a room just right for you. Louis L'Amour liked 222; in fact this is where he penned his complete series of novels, "The Sacketts". President Gerald Ford enjoyed staying in room 333 our "Presidential Suite". Honeymooners might want to stay in one of our honeymoon suites. Room 220 is an award winner, taking top three at the International Gold Key Awards. Or maybe the fourth floor is more your style, referred to as "Monkey Hall" for the wild goings on between the affluent travelers of yesteryear and some of Durango's most famous Madams. As you can see, the Strater Hotel has a lot more than just a room to offer you, it offers up an experience, the "True Durango Experience" and it is waiting to add you to it's list of satisfied customers eager to return.
