Purgatory Mountain at Durango Mountain Resort is known for its wonderful weather, variety of terrain, and laid back atmosphere. Miles of groomed terrain insures that there will be something for everyone. For the experts, head to the backside and such runs as Paul's Park, Ray's Ridge, or Poet's Glade.

Durango Mountain Resort is located 35 miles north of the Strater Hotel on US Highway 550. There is ample parking and the drive is scenic and non-challenging. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes each way by car and the skiing experience is well worth the visit. Rental equipment can be easily obtained at Hasslefree sports which is located at 26th Street and Main Avenue, right on the way up to the mountain as you drive north from the hotel.
