The Strater Hotel

The Strater Hotel will take you to a romantic time in our frontier history when gold and silver were king and Victorian palaces like the Strater were a splash of opulence in an otherwise rough, and often treacherous, wild west. Our hotel lobby is like a museum with display cases full of wonderful relics of the times from the Cliff Dwellers at Mesa Verde to the 1890's and early 1900's.

Our famous Diamond Belle Saloon, Office Spiritorium, and Mahogany Grille are favorite eateries of our locals. Whether you're looking for fine-dining, a relaxed Happy Hour, or a good old fashion Cowboy Bar... we've got them all with food and drink menus that won't disappoint.

During the summer you can enjoy one of America's few remaining authentic Vaudeville Melodramas at the Durango Melodrama located inside our Henry Strater Theatre; we provide a lively show nightly except for Mondays. During the fall you won't want to miss our version of the Rocky Horror Show: Live On Stage afterwhich you'll definitely want to be a part of the downtown Durango Halloween festivities.
